Jet Li missing following tsunami in Maldives

He was on holidays with his family in the Maldives islands when the tidal wave struck. His manger has been unable to contact him or located him since. Lets hope him, his family and the many others that are missing turn up in good health.

The death toll is at least 23,000 and many more may die from water bourne diseases and injury - let`s keep things in perspective. I too hope he is alive and that the death toll is not as high as predicted, but this is not a time to worry about a single individual.

As human beings we all empathise with the many who are suffering right now, and also as human beings to have a face and a personality to one of those does not lesson our sympathy for the rest.

It seems he`s okay, along with his family. Check this link:

indeed...it`s like the news saying `11 britons dead in the 23,500` is, to me, pointless.

Agreed - but remember the tabloids` value scale, so that for a `tragedy` only two Brits have to die, but roughly ten thousand foreigners have to perish to merit the same headline.

It could be argued that as some brits have been killed the press will keep this in the public eye longer. That can only be a good thing.

All the best,

It`s not easy being different. It`s not easy being cool....but somehow I manage....

I`m afraid Australia does the same. The tragedy becomes a major tragedy if Australians are involved, even if it be one. Not good.
