NYC Eats - your recommendations please............
I know i`m an old pro at places to eat in NYC - but as it has more restaurants than any other city - I was just wondering if you know of any fantastic places that you would recommend.
I`m not just looking for great eats either - good entertainment, atmosphere, friendly staff, seen to be believed, just plain weird, dangerous but worth it, miles away, views, historical - anything...... i`d love to hear about it.
I`m going to be jotting them down for a couple of trips this year and i`m then going write them in a little tourist guide.
Looking forward to your recommendations.......

When we were in New York recently, we had a policy of never eating in the same place twice, when we were hungry, we just made for the nearest eating establishment and we had great food every time.
Best place though was a place called "Ruth`s Chris Steak House" on 59th and 3rd (I think, will have to check) - the most fantastic steak ever and onions rings that were 6 inches across (I have the pictures at home!)

Yum - Sounds good - i`m a bonafide Steak Eater and I just loves Onion Rings. My mouth is watering already.

There`s an excellent seafood restaurant tucked away just up from 5th & 59th called RM`s - book earlly and be prepared for some of the best food you`ll ever have.
And you MUST go to the oyster bar in Grand Central - the best Chowder I`ve ever had there. Absolutely fantastic food in beautiful surroundings.

Peter Luger`s Steakhouse in Brooklyn is a MUST!!! I think their website is peterluger.com
The menu is very limited - but with good reason. They specialise in steak, so why bother producing other dishes that you can probably get better elsewhere?!
The staff are famed for their surliness (but in a good way! - it`s all part of the charm of the place). It`s an expensive place but well worth every cent. The downside is that it`ll cost you $50 or so for a cab there and back (Luger`s can organise a car to take you back though so you don`t have to try and find a cab). In saying that, I would GLADLY pay twice that for a cab fare as I haven`t found a restaraunt that can touch them yet.
