General Forum
Being Welsh the tournament starts for me at 5:30 PM on Saturday 5th February when we take on England in Cardiff.
Chances are we could have a few cracking games on our hands this time , the Lions tour is later this year and all British players will be busting a gut to show they are worthy of a tour place.
Wales are finally starting to play as a team and are also fitter than they have ever been and not forgetting the huge injury list that England have on top of the players that have retired gives us a great chance of sneaking a win against the World Champs.
I think it`s all down to confidence and if we sneak this one then who knows what might happen ? we have Scotland away and then Ireland at home on the last game for what could be a triple crown ( although if we lose badly on the first game our confidence will be shattered and we could also be looking at another wooden spoon - but we don`t want to be thinking like that )
I think it will end with France on top then Wales , Ireland , England , Scotland , Italy.

Yep I`m well up for this one Wayne, I`m working 5/2 but should finish at 5 and make start of match. I still think that until we actually beat the big teams then there`s still going to be a potential confidence problem. BTW I was at Millennium Stadium when they lost recently to NZ - games like this where the win may have made a crucial difference to future performance. Still plenty of scope for confidence though - England injury problems or not. We`ve got the makings of a good outfit.
C`MON WALES (sorry can`t think of Welsh words at moment :( )
Pete :)
i cant wait. im going to the england match. remember coming away from the new zealand match very disappointed because we should have won thinking england next, but that was months ago, and here it is a week away great stuff.
just read that charvis looks like being out, i know he has come good lately but i think hes been too patchy. gareth thomas is another, i cant see why hes constantly picked.ok hes scored a lot of tries, mostly against the lesser teams but surely we have a young winger in wales, preferrably as good as shane.
surely it cant be another false dawn for the mighty Dragons... they have cost me a fortune over the years and this year we have to get results. The English chariot is damaged without Wilkinson and Robinson so hopefully the fire will breath again! :D Henson penalty in the last minute will do it from 1/2 way 8)
Full of optimism as always........chwarae teg!

RE: Six Nations Rugby soon
Although the Welsh are dangerous, the backs will not have the platform from which to beat England. Julian White is the man to watch as last time he played against Wales, he almost single handedly destroyed their scrum. Martin Corry is a big loss to England but a back row of Moody, Hazell and Worsley should make life difficult at the breakdown for a Charvis-less Welsh scrum.
Any thoughts on the English centre partnership? I would go for Barkley and Smith with Noon on the bench; Tait should have a run out against the Scots and Italians.

He certainly will be watched now as the Welsh coach has asked the ref to keep an eye on him as he is known for boring across the scrum which is illegal.

So, Noon and Tait it is!! Watch them fly through the Welsh defence. I`m not too sure about ol` Charlie Hodgson though. Bit lightweight and the Welsh will put some `Garryowens` up in his area and descend upon him like a pack of hounds!! Hurry up back Jonny!!
I personally would not have picked Tait, as a kicking option in midfield is always useful but I look forward to being proved wrong! Picking Noon to play alongside him will give him added confidence as his is familiar with playing next to Noon and the two have a good understanding.
Charlie Hodgeson has better distribution skills than Wilkinson and I don`t doubt for one moment that if Wilkinson were playing he would be targeted even more than Hodgeson will be.
I think (and hope) that the fuss about Julian White`s scrummaging is merely gamesmanship by Mike Ruddock and the ref will officiate the scrums as he normally would and not pay any more attention to the White/Jenkins confrontation than normal.

Lol , I haven`t seen many players fly through Henson , thrown on their @rses more like :D but I`m sure you`ll be back on here later to correct me if I`m wrong.

Looks as if it`s just mind games as Mike was on TV last night denying saying it , although he was grinning like hell .
