RE: The Pope has died

So the Pope died!! Shock!
He was ill, gravely ill at that, what a surprise!!
Don`t we all die eventually? Or perhaps this person should have been given immortality by someone?
Whatever....my mother died....didn`t make the headlines though!! Religion...makes me vomit!!
What is the big deal?

This is my thread, Can we please keep it to the original post.

OK...a little bit of advice. As you can see on your own original post, you can check your `payments` before you submit them. I suggest you do this and then you won`t be `overcharged. Do you normally pay for things before you`re told the price?

Secondly...you wrote Quote:
more suggestions please! (Before i take this thread to ebay`s own forums)
I suggest you also do that.

As for bootfer...

Go ahead then...prove their accounts are `a mess`. Like nickthebum says.....I think you`ll find it`s just YOUR opinion!

RE: Ebay Fee`s (And overcharging?)

You`re not,

Which is obviously why you and Leewhatever (who has been banned by ebay) don`t really give a s*** what happens to this site regardless of your opinions. Selfish geeks springs to mind. :B If you`ve got a problem with ebay...tell them (ebay) don`t espouse rhetoric here. And I thought this site had Moderators, and head one`s at that! :o

Just like to point out that before posting phrases like this....Quote:

It may be wise to realise that you are making this site liable, as well as yourself! :o

Just a word of advice.

RE: Casanova

Yep, a good laugh although in my opinion not as good as the Frank Findlay version (quite a few years ago!!). Typical Russell T Davies stuff. Bringing it to a 21st Century audience ala Doccie Who. Worth watching if anyone didn`t see it this time as I`m sure it will be on Beeb 1 in the near future.

Stand By Me - Deluxe Edition

This newly re-mastered edition is listed on various web sites as High Def 1:85:1 anamorphic with DD 5.1 sound. Don`t believe it! It`s just a re-issue of the original release (with a CD music score addition). Same print, same sound DD2.0 mono!! Typical Columbia Tristar fodder in fact! >:(

I`m glad England managed to finish third

So you won`t be very happy when you see we finished 4th then!!

Well done Wales....you deserved it. But remember..it`s only temporary!! :p :p

RE: Fantasy Six Nations

Well done! And you take the `4 Nations` title as well. I`ll send you some Barabrith and some lava bread! :D

RE: Firefly DVD Problems

Mine played perfectly as well. Must be your copy. ;)

RE: First-Hand account of the Ian Brown `incident`

Ian Brown, The Fall, who next, New Order!! Must be something in the Mancunian water. :D

RE: Asian film fans

What info are you looking for?

RE: Static Electricity

Quote:
mainly when I get out of the car and shut the door. I have now had enough and I kick the door shut now,

Firmly grab hold of the metal of the car door as you`re leaving the car and before your feet touch the ground and you shouldn`t feel a thing.

RE: Static Electricity

Take a look at your furniture and your clothing. Make sure you ALWAYS have a cotton garment between synthetic materials. Never let synthetics brush together. Polyester against nylon, for example, is asking for trouble.

It may be that you`ve bought a new nylon carpet? (wear leather soled shoes or buy an anti-static treatment spray for the carpet). Anti-static sprays can provide a short term solution (needs to be repeated periodically) but the best answer is to remove the offending articles or cover them with cotton fabric.

As has been mentioned, dry air causes static build up. Moist air tends to discharge things that are charged.

If you think about what has changed, you`ll probably see one or two garments or furniture that play a major role in the problem.

RE: Telesales Calls - bit annoyed???

That`s because you can`t see the wood for the trees sonny. I use TPS, I use pop-up blockers. They still get through occassionally....here endeth the analogy. Clear enough?

RE: Telesales Calls - bit annoyed???

And like I said to Chris....in your humble opinion. I`m putting the counter opinion, nice of you to be so friendly by the way nickthegun..... "sometimes you really do live up to your user name." Touche?

RE: Telesales Calls - bit annoyed???

Quote:
how is this concept so difficult to understand ?

Possibly because I`m not wearing the `sycophantic spectacles` that you use. Plans to be a moderator by any chance? :D

Quote:
i`m not ranting btw, just adding my (correct) point of view.

In your humble opinion of course? ;)
Nuff said already.

RE: Telesales Calls - bit annoyed???

See edit above. Rather than continue posting about something that I certainly don`t agree with (cold calls, pop-ups etc) but can see the counter opinion of. Pop-ups and cold calls...I deal with in my own way but certainly don`t rant on about such things. Annoying they may be but, like I`ve already pointed out,...it`s people doing something they are paid to do, they are certainly not Nazis or scum simply based on their (usually) temporary job. That`s all I`m saying. 8)

the fact that these things pay the revenue for this site means you accept you will get em, simply by coming to the site

If that is your reply then, anyone with a phone connected to an `active line` should accept that they will get telesales calls etc? Email address? Accept you`ll get spam mail? In which case..get on with it and stop moaning about such things.

Telesales = Revenue for their businesses = `Scum of the earth`

Web sites pop-ups = Revenue for their business = ??? :p

you come here by choice, the pop-ups are a by-product of funding a site we all enjoy, cold-calls are uninvited.

Double standards mate!! I have a pop-up blocker, pop-ups are `uninvited`. What`s the difference?

Quote:
Remember, rapists and child molestors can work in tele sales too.

And your point would be what? That these people can also work in hi-fi shops etc. Therefore everyone who works in a hi-fi shop is `scum of the earth`? In fact everyone is `scum of the earth`? What`s your next post...Telesales people can also be supporters of Al-Queda? :/

RE: Poll

But how do I vote for a thrilling action adventurous sci-fi rom/com horror musical with a Western war type documentary genre? :/

RE: Telesales Calls - bit annoyed???

42%er. I think you`ll find that I`m actually advocating ignoring them not "hanging on and running after these people". Door to Door sales? Either don`t answer the door, if you can see who it is or, just say "no thanks" and close the door.

Quote:
I should add she is on the TPS so she should not be getting the calls.

So am I but I still get the odd ones (just like my pop-up blocker should block all the one`s on this site, but the odd one gets through).

Quote:
they`r still the scum of the earth tho

I think it`s people that are sort of erm... like.....rapists, child molestors who deserve this kind of `handle`, not people who are just doing their jobs!

RE: Telesales Calls - bit annoyed???

Yes but, the telesales operator is not aware of your problems and is only doing the job that they`ve been asked to do. What I tend to do is pick up the receiver, don`t talk just listen. If it stays quiet for more than 5 seconds I replace the receiver. If the person at the other end says something and I realise it`s telesales I replace the receiver. If it`s someone important, they will call you back. No anger required. What happens if someone gets a wrong number? Do you tell them to feck off?

RE: Poll

Or Porno?? :D

RE: Just saw FULL TRAILER of EPISODE 3!!

IMHO ALL trailers make films look really exciting and great etc. But we all know that when they`re seen `fully` they`re just a load of bollox. Circle almost complete? I don`t think Lucas will think so, they`re his `cash cow` after all!! ;)

RE: Customs help..

Roughly, as a guideline add 18%. Then again, try using a supplier that doesn`t use that particular route!! ;)

RE: Great goal......Great loser

Wonderful game, credit to both teams!! Ronaldinho`s goal was absolutely and audaciously brilliant!

Well done Chelsea. Did Rijkaard spit in Mourinho`s hair afterwards? :D

RE: Football Question - Indirect Free-kicks

This is covered by Laws 10 and 13 of F.I.F.A.`s Rules.

A goal is scored when the whole of the ball passes over the goal line, between the goalposts and under the crossbar, provided that no infringement of the Laws of the Game has been committed previously by the team scoring the goal.

The Indirect Free Kick - Ball Enters the Goal

A goal can be scored only if the ball subsequently touches another player before it enters the goal.

If an indirect free kick is kicked directly into the opponents' goal, a goal kick is awarded.

If an indirect free kick is kicked directly into the team's own goal, a corner kick is awarded to the opposing team.

So I suppose it`s up to the ref to decide?
