Spoiler threads - new addition to Forum Rules
Just to let you know that I have drafted a new section for the Forum rules to deal with the problem of spoiler threads:
SPOILERS
To spoil the details of a film for other readers of the Forums is unacceptable. Please refrain from posting anything which might give away storylines, plot points, twists or finales in your posts without adequate warning. If any such information is included in your post, please ensure that it is necessary for the post, and that the word "SPOILER" in capital letters is included in your subject title. Posts breaching this rule will be deleted immediately without warning.
This will be incorporated shortly, so please give consideration before making a posting.
Cheers

Dan - that`s a fine idea. Have already had one film I intened to buy slightly spoilt by someone mentioning `candles` in another thread...I`ll leave you to imagine what that`s all about.
RE: Spoiler threads - new addition to Forum Rules
talking about spoilers, the biggest one ive ever witnessed was on Sky`s Soccer AM. it was shortly after The Sixth Sense was released and i was sitting there with my dad when that w***er tim lovejoy gave away the twist at the end. fortunately id already seen it but my dad hadnt yet and was distraught that this p***-ant had ruined a film hed been looking forward to for ages!!! i couldnt believe that the twist for arguably the years biggest movie was ruined on national tv.
he doesnt `only` talk s*** about football.....
RE: Spoiler threads - new addition to Forum Rules
I didn`t see Sixth Sense until very recently, and I HAD managed not to hear what happened.
However, even KNOWING there was a twist spoiled it to some extent.
I`m not getting all heavy handed about this, I`m just reminding people to use "SPOILER" in the tagline or I`ll nuke it.
Cheers

Nice one Dan, recently I asked Reviewer to remove a DVD REVIEW of Fight Club because the visitor only spoilt it by saying what happened at the end of the film! (Im relieved I had already seen the film). Glad too that reviewer agreed with me and deleted it. Good one for making this point on the forums too.
cheer,
Andy.

Andy, I haven`t seen Fight Club yet, but the fact that you said something happens at the end of the film has completely ruined it for me. Honestly...can`t they just end these things in a surreal fashion??

and after you have seen fight club then go and read the book which not only has the original ending (like duh) but has a MUCH better ending, then go read all of chuck`s other books and be thankful that we dont live in his world...

I personally liked the one on ITV years ago when they announced that those not wanting to know the score of some big game should look away from their screen for the next ten seconds ... and the announcer then proceeded to read the score out loud!!!!
Doh!
RE: Spoiler threads - new addition to Forum Rules
Alan, every film i`ve ever seen has something happen at the end. I`m making a point about people who write reviews that tell exactly what happens in a film are really ruining it for others . I have said nothing about the film which would spoil it for anyone. I would suggest you don`t read any reviews at all if you feel that way, since writers tend to say much more in a review on this site than anything i`ve ever said.
