Thinking about selling up and going to live in a static caravan. Does anyone live in a caravan in a park??? Any advice???
Don`t live in one myself but used to have a couple of customers ( when I was an insurance rep) that did.
They hated it, noisy when it rained, hard to keep warm in winter and they said that it needed constant maintenence to keep it liveable.
They would have given their right arms to have a brick built house.
why take life so seriously..its not like you are going to make it out alive
No net connect too I suspect.

Hi, i was thinking of doing the same a few years back but far as i remember then caravan parks have to close for three months of the year without anyone staying iin the caravans ,otherwise they are charged community tax on each van.it might have changed now and i could have got it a bit wrong.good luck.
I thought the idea was to live in a trailer\caravan park, not a holiday home. :/
I quite like the Helpdesk people in a benevolent (as opposed to malevolent) way as they do some valuable work in preventing us being inundated by every halfwit who can work a phone.
A friend and his family were forced to move into a static caravan park due to very unfortunate circumstances quite some years ago.
It was a hellhole (both the home itself and the park) that they strived to get out of as quickly as possible.
Frankly,it staggers me that anyone would actively seek to live in one. :/
RE: Does anyone live in a caravan?
My Dad lived in one for a while, loads of hidden charges and taxes plus there is a difference in residential and seasonal. Seasonal (basically meant he was homeless for 6 weeks of every year) and residential has all the hassle (council tax, etc) of a "real house".
Oh, and the drama on site was like walking into a Eastenders/Coronation St script.
Sorry. :/

Yes,they do seem to attract ( how can one put this politely..) a `certain type` of individual...

RE: Does anyone live in a caravan?
I`ve got some friends who live on a holiday park in a caravan and they love it, but they have to move out for 6 weeks of the year and leave the van behind to avoid all the taxes and everything.
I think its a great idea, but make sure you pick a park you like in an area you like, go and stay there during a school holiday before youe move there coz then you will see it at its worst not its best. You should bear in mind that you will get some muppets in the summer (but you do anywhere now) and make sure you ask about all the charges that you will have to pay before you sign anything.
I think its a lovely idea, my mum and dad are thinking about it when my brother and sister are older. I don`t think you can get an internet connection ususally tho, so whoever said that was right.
