Well they did just that. I`ve said for I don`t know how long that I don`t think we should play with both Lampard and Gerrard in the centre. Think tonight proved it.

Yeah SWP was good, but I think Beckham would have been the icing on the cake tonight. You can`t deny he is one of the best passers in the game.

Ridiculous isn`t it? Makes no real sense whatsoever.

I don`t see, considering we had qualified anyway, why we couldn`t have thrown on Bent or Defoe to either start the game or at a decent time during the game. Crouch really added nothing.

I don`t dislike Crouch, but I don`t see that he has done enough to warrant the third choice striker position.

Owen should prosper in Germany, as he will be fresh, since no European games to play!

The passion and chasing was evident tonight, although this is probably due to the press and not the manager. Surely Sven will now realise that he will need to "release" Lampard to make runs whilst keeping King as a holding player, that`s why Gerrard and Lampard do not work. King is a natural defensive player whilst Gerrard and Lampard are too similar.

SWP should be considered as starter. The starting line up was just right tonight, but imagine if Beckham, Gerrard were available it would have been another disaster! Sven was forced into the changes that worked, not by choice!

Crouch seems a waste of time, no goals scored for an England striker, surely this must be a mistake! Even though he was fresh, no chasing down what so ever. Not a world class player by any stretch.

The reason we played well was the team play and Rooney! Roooooooooney links the play as does King in different areas of the pitch. If Wayne does not play then we are usually pedestrian.
Anyway, we are there, so hopefully the £375K a month manager will see sense and pick basically the starting line up tonight but will need to accomodate Beckham and Gerrard..........or will he????
