Page 1 of Aruba or Barbados?

Been put in charge of organising our honeymoon and I can`t decide between Aruba and barbados...which would you recommend?

Hi , I`m not too sure, but wouldn`t you have to connect in Amsterdam to fly to Aruba. Barbados is easy to get to, but I`ve no experience of either. Aruba just sounds glamorous though. Must be something to do with that song.

I live in the USA now so both are really accessible. It is so hard to choose, narrowing it down to those two was... well...I don`t know why, just wanted to make my choice easier :)

Well Fox News (mainly Bill O` Rielly) wants all the Americans public to boycot Aruba.

My mum and dad went to Barbados last year and really enjoyed it. Said the locals are really friendly, theres loads to see and do, the nightlifes good and the beaches are beautiful.

They also said that there is more cheap rum than you can shake a s***ty stick at. And blokes selling weed, if thats your bag.

They are pretty conservative, quiet people and they enjoyed it, so it should be good for a honeymoon.

Cant vouch for aruba, but they gave barbados a pretty glowing report. And try the Cockspur Rum. Its like rocket fuel.

Both islands offer beautiful beaches and numerous watersports.
There are more boutique style shops in Aruba which lends an air of sophistication to the Island.
Barbados tends to be very, very, casual, which is great , but I think Aruba may just have the edge for a honeymoon destination.

Whichever you choose I`m sure it will be a winner !!

An acquaintance of mine tells me Bonaire is the Dutch`s secret gem in the Caribbean. It`s next to Aruba, and can be reached via Amsterdam too. Might be worth looking into.
