recommend me a new digital house phone

dakwah (Competent) posted this on Saturday, 8th April 2006, 15:09

my panasonic digital home phones are on their last legs. Have anyone tried many or are happy with the brand they are using? I ask because the panasonic had quite poor quality sound and not that loud. So I am after a twin set with good clear sound, at least a 20 number memory and of course ID display, but I imagine they all do now.

thanks

Must admit our Panasonics have been pretty good. I just bought a new one for the office, and I was amazed at the range I get with it. I can take the phone to the pub (100 yards away), and get a signal when inside - with at least half a dozen walls between me and the base station. I got a Panasonic again (because I`ve been haoppy with the ones in the house) - model kx-tca181e - not cheap, but I liked the idea of the USB port to dump numbers down on to it, plus the headset I got free with it is great when talking and typing. The only downside to it is that all the ringtones on it are pretty quiet.

perhaps I was unlucky. Thought the phone line was the problem to BT says its good. Maybe the newer models will be ok.

I have the KX-TCA151EM great phones the only complaint is that there is only one quiet tone for receiving an SMS. The battery life is outstanding and the call quality is very good.

I would normally buy cheap Binatone from Argos every few years but sticking with Panasonic for good now.

mmm chocolate

In laws have a Panny. Not impressesd by it at all. It was the top model a couple of years ago.

Much prefer the cheapie Binatone pair I have (MD-750). Only let down by only 6 mins recording time on the answer machine, although I`m sure the more recent models will have much more than that.
