Page 1 of All in one remotes?
General Forum
I must have five different remote controls for TV to DVD so I decided to get one of those all in one things. But I can`t get it to work with my Telewest digital set top box. I`ve now tried two different makes and neither work. Does anyone know of a multi-remote that will work with my Telewest box, Sharp widescreen TV, Daewoo VCR and Bush DVD as well as my Hi-Fi?
Thanks
Mark
Out of interest, Britman, is it a Pace set top box perchance ?
These are known to work on unique modulation codes, allegedly to enable owners to take part in multi-gaming at some stage in the future. Thus, URCs (Universal Remote Controls) and learning remotes can`t be switched to operate Pace boxes.
Mind you, two remotes is better than 5 !
I had a similar problem. When I bought my new Samsung WS TV, the one for all I used to hack my DVD wouldn`t re-program for my TV, neither would the Sky Digital handset. After a LOT of calls to both Samsung & SKY, it turns out that my TV is ahead of both handsets, so no amount of trying, "magic" button or not, will get my TV compatible with them. BASTARDS!!!!

Yep the box is a Pace one. ahh well bugger to that idea.
Cheers guy`s.

RE: All in one remotes?
My all-in-one 6 remote didn`t work with NTL`s pace box, but a quick phone call to the support line and they downloaded a new code over the phone for me ! Works fine now.
My only remaining problem is to get it to work with my Lecson DVD900. They don`t have a code for it yet.
RE: All in one remotes?
I`m using the E.pilot remote and that won`t work with my telewest box either. ( yep it`s a pace too)
anyone know if it`s upgradeable?
RE: All in one remotes?
Hi Mos,
I am using the "One For All 6" URC-7560. I couldn`t find a code for my Eclipse 695, so I used the learning function on the OFA6. Works fine on the DVD player now
