Page 1 of apple ipod ????????????
General Forum
hi guys need some help on getting started on the apple ipod.
leave all you know aboutn apple ipods here.mymain questions are is it possible to add songs downloaded from another programme (not itunes) onto itunes and add them onto your ipod. :)
Yup - You have to "import" them, its been a while since I set up THO`s one so the process is n`t too fresh in my mind ATM).
I consider myself an optimist, albeit an optimist with cynical tendencies and a dark side that Lucifer himself would find a little creepy. (Perhaps you've noticed.) You don't normally associate cynicism with an upbeat pov. But I have exactly that combination and will defend it.
RE: apple ipod ????????????
Hi Matey
Could you be a bit more help to me as this is for my son who is getting the nano for his Bday.
Please could you advise me of how to import the tunes??
Thanks
At the risk of being rude, have you tried Google ?!
For example "itunes import"
It obviously depends if there is any other sort of restrictive DRM on the music from the other services you`ve used to download - you haven`t made clear what they are, or what format the music might be.

I take it you know where the mp3`s are stored on your hard drive?
Open iTunes.
Method 1:
File
Import (or Control+Shift+o)
Browse for your file, select and press OK.
Note that when you import, you can only do one file at a time.
Method 2:
File
Add file to library (or Control +o)
Browse for files, select using shift+left mouse and then OK - you can do multiple files this way
You can also add complete directories, but that will do you I think...

Go that way, really fast. If something gets in your way, turn...
And those who dance will spin and turn,
And those who wait will wait no more,
And those who talk will hear the words,
And those who see will fade and die,
And those who laugh will surely fall,
And those who know will always feel their backs against the thin wall...
Why not download itunes now and play with it - the help section will answer all your questions of this nature.

When adding files to Itunes that are already on your hard drive, make sure you untick the Copy files to Itunes folder when adding to library box:
Edit - Preferences - Advanced tab
Live a life you love, use a god you trust, and don`t take it all too seriously
Good idea to check that, I think that might be a default setting tho.
Much more important, now I think of it, is to disable the auto update feature. I completely wiped my iPod in my first week messing around in iTunes (and after I put about 15GB on it...).

Then why say it?!

Because it needed to be said. And, in retrospect, I dont think it was as much rude as blunt.
