When I read the thread title, I instinctively knew it would be Rendezvous. Great stuff.
RE: awesome in car footage.....
No streets were closed, for Lelouch was unable to obtain a permit.
The driver completed the course in about 9 minutes, reaching nearly 140 MPH in some stretches. The footage reveals him running real red lights, nearly hitting real pedestrians, and driving the wrong way up real one-way streets.
is it just me that thinks the organiser & driver should be shot before they do someone real damage :/ (if he`s not already, since this was filmed in 1978)

There is also a fair few people who reckon its a very clever fake.
Something to do with the camera bolted so low it looks faster and dubbed sound and other discrepencies.
Can`t elaborate further but there may be something about it lurking around the net.
Utter f***in scheitte.
140 MPH, sorry mate I have travelled at that speed in Germany in my mates tuned up Audi a few years back and this is f*** all like 140MPH. Trees white lines etc are a blur when they are a mere twenty feet away.
Show the speedo and the rev counter then shoot the footage, like the Japanese fanny did with his Ferrari a few years back.
Cobbled streets at speeds up to 140 MPH , aye right mate and Ian Paisley will be the next pope.

Looks like a fake to me, well, not a fake as such, just not as fast as they say. (only watched 4 mins mind). The cars the are overtaken pass by fairly slowly. The low mounting camera gives an impression of more speed. Things dont pass by fast enough for me.
