Theiving B*****ds

Just received a parcel today.
Outside packaging intact - however inside the bloody item has been nicked !!
I`m thinking someone has repackaged the original box !!
I ordered a sat nav system from PCWorld - inside the box everything is there - packaging, software, leads, batteries etc - but no sat nav hardware !!
Phoned PCWorld who asked whether the seals were broke. I explained that all external packaging was intact but internally item was missing. They said I can`t return as I have broken the seal !! I said how can I check the item is there without opening the box ?? I also said isn`t it weird I have all the packaging, software etc ?
DHL said not their fault as the packaging was intact when I signed - which is true.
Have been passed on to PCWorld`s HQ - waiting call back.
Hope I get a positive outcome - but doesn`t sound good.
Any Advice ???

hmm....customer is always right!!

I had a similar thing with a minidisc player I bought from Argos.

It was on the shelving behind them in the sale and I bought it....got home, opened the box and no player!!!

I rang head office straight away and they said go bak to the shop....went back to the shop and they pretty much mad me feel guilty as tho` I had kept it.

Did get my money back....was going to complain about the treatmen but never got around to it.

why take life so seriously..its not like you are going to make it out alive

Have you posted that story before, Geezer? It sounds very familiar.

I sure hope they send out a replacement or ask me to return the original stuff. I couldn`t believe it when I opened the box - been waiting 5 days !! Gutted !!

I wonder if it was never in the box in the first place - some f***-up in the factory.

Duhhhhhhhh. I hope this gets sorted - I see PC World are as characteristically helpful as usual... :(

That`s exactly my feeling -its strange how everything else is there. All software, leads etc.

Shall hopefully know more tomorrow - when/if HQ ring me !!

Did you buy it on a credit card? If so they should offer insurance if you fail in your claim against PC World. Have you ever tried opening a parcel to check it before signing? The delivery drivers get seriously shirty!

Used to work in the poulty wholesale business years ago and remember one butcher phoning up to complain about a turkey we had delivered. We would take delivery of a artic load of pre boxed turkeys, with their weights maked on the box. We`d check each indivdual box weight, and send on out to the butchers (midddle man - kerching!). Anyway, he had opened the (still sealed) box to display the turkey and found a lump of bloody tarmac which weighed the same as marked on the box :o
Some wag obviously had this lump of tarmac and waited for the right weight to come along! And no, it wasn`t any of us, believe me, after seeing so many bloody birds and getting the weekly "perk" :/ of one for sunday lunch, you really wouldn`t bother.

Have you tried switching it on........?
