Page 1 of Recommend me a graphic novel...

Haven`t read one for a couple of years now, and quite fancy buying one (feeling inspired to do so after Superman Returns). Can anyone recommend anything? Wouldn`t mind reading another Superman one if anyone knows of any good `uns?

the beat series is good

black orchid - untitled limited series 1988 (beautiful artwork)
wolverine - frank miller/ chris claremont miniseries from 1982
dave gibbons/ alan moore - watchmen
frank miller - batman: the dark knight returns
frank miller/ david mazuchelli - batman: year one
Mike W Barr/ Brian Bolland - Camelot 3000

all pretty intense stuff- worth checking.

Otherwise try Cerebus The Aadvaark - started out as a conan rip off but started getting serious. Very Funny.

Bone - A mish mash of Looney Tunes and Lord of the rings - who said comics could,t be funny.

Watchmen - Ultimate GN. Old but still worth it.

Used to love ABC Warriors. Do they still appear in 2000AD?
