Straight from the horse`s mouth...... orange customers face no internet connection. The whole LLU network has gone down about 1 hr ago. About 60,000+ customers affected.
No idea when this will be fixed. :(
Orange customers keep your fingers crossed.
I know it as i work for them :o

Spoken like a true BOFH. :D
I consider myself an optimist, albeit an optimist with cynical tendencies and a dark side that Lucifer himself would find a little creepy. (Perhaps you've noticed.) You don't normally associate cynicism with an upbeat pov. But I have exactly that combination and will defend it.
Im on Orange too and its working fine at moment!
It might even be faster :D lol

A secret squirrel did email us the following snippet:
I work for Orange, in a role that has reasonable contact with the Alcatal guys who manage the Orange broadband infrastructure. The outage was caused by an "unauthorised" change to the network which one of the Alcatel guys performed.
As I understand it, the effect of this was a permissions problem with the hardware located out at the switches and exchanges, and now requires an engineer to visit each of the 4000+ sites to restart a few bits of kit. You will find that one by one the regions come back up, but at present approx 50 per cent of the LLU customers are still offline. I would imagine it will be another day or so before the rest of the customers are back online.
Expect someone to loose their nutz over this.
