I am so pleased by this. I shudder every time C4 get a series im looking forward to because they just run it into the ground with completely random scheduling and pre-empting stuff for Big Brother. They are probably the main reason I got Sky, to be honest, because you just couldnt rely on C4 to show a series A) In its entirety or B) At a sane time. I mean, the series finale of OZ was on at like 1 oclcok in the f***ing morning.

F*** Channel 4 and horse it rode in on, quite frankly.

But sucks for those who don`t watch it from the US airings and can`t afford (or don`t want) Sky or Cable. I have Cable, but I stopped watching 24 when it went to Sky because the time/day wasn`t as convenient (with the BBC3 showing bonus) as on the BBC.

Doing my best not to troll here, but just a question to people who enjoy Lost.

Does it not irritate you intensely that very little is explained in any one episode, and for everything that is explained, 2 or three new mysteries are thrown up (based on my highly scientific and representative sample of the 3 half episodes from season one i watched).

It sort of reminds me of those X-Files episodes which weren`t self-contained. You know, the ones with the Smoking Man and all the conspiracy theories. At the end of those episodes i just felt like i`d wasted an hour cos i ended up just being more confused than ever.

I mean, i don`t mind an episode of a series ending on a cliffhanger, but when a cliffhanger isn`t even explained in the next episode it`s pushing it a little.

I didn`t bother with series 2.
I just watched the last episode.
If you`ll excuse the pun,I wasn`t lost in any way and I was perfectly able to just jump straight in at the end. 8)

I would watch Lost if it was just a soap opera about load of pretty people on an non-magical island, I like the characters and I like the structure. The mystery keeps me guessing, and I love the convoluted-ness of it. Having the rug pulled out from under me a few times a season is all part of the ride, and so far I`m not irritated other than occasional cries of "This f***ing show!". :D:D

I agree with this. I think The X-Files is a huge warning for all serial dramas to actually have an "exit strategy" planned - the loose ends were tied up fine after 7 (Smoking Man dead, Samantha explained, etc) and the big "revelation" in the series finale about the Mayan calender came out of nowhere and was daft.

No. It doesnt really bother me. Its one of those things really. I mean, yes, I would like more explanation of what is going on, but, in the grand scheme of things, I can see what they are doing.

After watching a few S3 episodes, it really does look like we are starting to get to the meat. The first two seasons were, essentially, laying the groundwork, they established characters and put in throwaway scenes and dialogue that you think nothing of at the time, but then they reference it back later and it suddenly makes sense.

I think its why its so popular on the internet with obsessives. Its all about the detail. Nothing happens that doesnt fit in with the bigger picture and people seem to appreciate that. I think if they continued to do it, then yes it would get annoying, but the mystery is slowly unravelling.

Personally, I find it fascinating. I can watch an episode, be totally gripped and then it finishes leaving me thing `erm....f*** all happened. For an hour!`. Yet its still compelling....
