Page 1 of Ever Heard Your Name Called Out.........

...and no one was there?
happened to me a few times throughout my life, usually when "unaware" (i.e in bath, on toilet, between sleep and awake, etc).
Asked around and every single person I know has.
Yes, I know all about the unconscious, having studied it for several years now.
No, I am not supposing it is anything "other" (though theories welcome).
Merely asking if it has happened/been heard from anyone on here.
No, not to do with those with a mental illness.
Nope, I haven`t a clue why/when/etc.

Im glad Im not the only one!! I`ve heard my name called out to me on numerous occasions. I am of sound mental health....I hope!?!...so what is this? Is it just a trick of the mind? :/

I`ve been freaked out a couple of times when words in songs have sounded like someone I know calling my name.
An old party trick me and my friends had in the past too was to have our names called out as persons lost etc at festivals, gigs, and airports - ah the simple joys!

Yep happens to me aswell - so much for thinking I was `special` ;)
Have heard voices that I recognise call me even though that person is in another part of the country or even in another part of the world. Have no idea what it means, like to think someone is saying something nice about me hence why I hear my name

Do you mean it sounded like it came from across the street or do you mean whispered inside your head?

Nope. It is most definitely heard outside your head and feels like it is in another room.
In my experience. Definitely felt to be exterior and audible (bad sentence construction). A couple of times so loud "it" has given me a jolt.
Seems there is quite a lot.

This happens all the time to me. Usually if I`m sleeping lightly or about to wake up. I think it`s something (with me at least) to being "on call" 24/7 as a carer.

I live by myself and am often convinced I can hear my name being called :/ . I just put it down to the fact that I`m loosing my marbles!

you wanna try being called Dave..

the amount of times someone hollers for a dave is, well, a lot.
...

I`ve never had this and you are all mental...

...on the other hand it could be evil ghosts out to get you (think about that when you are alone and it happens again - you will now, I guarantee it :p )
