Page 1 of Check in and Security check times at Heathow mid week evening??

Has anyone recently travelled on a midweek late evening flight from Heathrow (I have a 10pm flight on a Teusday)?

Just trying to get an idea of how much time I should allow for check in and security checks etc. I am travelling with two kids (who like most get bored very easily) and dont want to get there too early. Some one my missus spoke to claimed we should get there at least 4hrs before the departure time!??

I was thinking more like 2-3hrs??

Any one with recent experience?

depending on the airline you can check in online... and if BA they have an advanced bag drop so no queing!
