Should the home nations have a Hakka?
Now I know this is sport related but I want opinions from non sport fans too. Why do we have to just stand there while they go on about cutting out throats and the like. A few years back England got in trouble for disrespecting one. But why should we have to respect it. Would I respect a bloke in the pub saying he was going to kill me?
So why don`t we have one? We could have the the player running at them windmilling and then have them making the movement of kicking someone in the head while they are down whilst chanting "Come on then, you and who`s f***in` army"
What do you think?

From Wikipedia: Quote:
Sports teams who perform a haka before international matches do so not only as a reflection of the importance of the game that is about to be played but also to motivate themselves and their supporters to greater efforts; indirectly then, as in days of old on the Māori battlefield, they are paying a compliment to the perceived skills of their opponentsThe All Blacks haka, the Ka Mate, has these lyrics Quote:
'Tis death! 'tis death! (or: I may die) 'Tis life! 'tis life! (or: I may live)
'Tis death! 'tis death! 'Tis life! 'tis life!
This the hairy man that stands here...
…who brought the sun and caused it to shine
A step upward, another step upward!
A step upward, another... the Sun shines!
The Samoans say this: Quote:
The Manu Samoa, may you succeed in your mission
The Manu Samoa, here I come
There is no other Manu (team) anywhere
Here I come completely prepared
My strength is at its peak
Make way and move aside
Because this Manu is unique
The Manu Samoa
The Manu Samoa
The Manu Samoa reigns from SamoaThe Tongans have their own haka called Ikale Tahi: Quote:
I shall speak to the whole world
The sea eagle is starved
Let the foreigner and sojourner beware
Today, destroyer of souls I am, everywhere
To the half back and the backs
I have shed my human characteristics
Maul and loose forwards I shall mow
And crunch any fierce hearts you know
I drink the ocean and consume the fire
To death or victory my will is fine
That`s how Tonga gives to her motto
To her motto, Tonga gives all
To her motto, Tonga gives allThe Fijian cibi merely is a dance to the words Quote:
prepare yourself, prepare yourselfI think that all haka are a great spectacle (especially when two of the teams meet and perform them simultaneously); northern hemisphere teams would look ridiculous performing a similar ritual as they do not have a recent history of such `war dances` or challenges.
