Page 1 of Driving question..

Just trying to figure out if I`m in the minority here....

You`re driving along a dual carriageway,in the LH lane.
Nothing in the RH lane.
You see someone waiting to pull out onto the dual carriageway from a junction.
What do you do?
Now, I`m guessing (hoping...) most of you will pull into the RH lane to allow the person to join the dual carriageway...
I know I do.
So why is it I have to `force` people to do this,night after night...? :/
Sometimes, if I pull into the LH lane, you even get the twats braking, flashing their lights and tooting their horn.
Like the perfectly clear RH they could pull into is a Romanian minefield.

i would go into the right hand lane, I`m sure that was what i was taught to do by my instructor, it`s courteous, it`s just common sense really!

Hes right, though. People dont do it. Especially trucks.

I am in the bowfer camp on this one. I dont have an issue with letting people out of junctions aslong as its safe to do so. Same issue on motorways to.

Think its yet another sign of how uncaring and selfish this country is becoming.

When it comes to lorries, no doubt.
Given that the majority of the drivers I encounter doing this are women though, can the same thing be levelled at them?
I genuinely believe a lot of women drivers are just plain terrified of the RH lane.
God knows,but when they`d rather brake than pull into a perfectly safe lane, what other bloody explanation is there?
Saw a cracker from a bloke the other week though.
He pulled out from the junction, and went straight into the fast lane...
The chaos he caused was unbelievable.
The traffic that would have safely passed him, if he`d pulled into the LH lane, didn`t know what to do.
I can`t even begin to imagine why he thought this was the thing to do... :/

Alwyas do it and also when on my bike.

Yeah gotta agree. I think a lot of the time they just don`t see the cars coming on. A lot of drivers just look STRAIGHT, or in their rear view mirror. Its just bad driving not observing what is around you. I`m always trying to be aware of what is around me (probably more important while city driving). But slip roads aren`t exactly invisible but a lot of drivers just seem to keep fixed on the road in front of them thinking that`s all driving is.

Then of course you get some c***s who put their foot down to close the gap you were going to pull into, forcing you to brake. I`ve seen accidents happen because of this.

I think this is a combination of problems with the issue of woman using the RH lane

1) the RH lane appears to be the domain of blokes in fast cars that zoom up ur arse if you invade it, more so if your a woman

2) Woman have become more aggressive in thier driving manner due to the rise of the girl racer and ladette and due to the general aggresive manner of driving on the roads.

3) TBH I see this behaviour more in men than woman.

Yeah, the junctions bit is important, as I`m inevitably going very slowly to start with.
Which just makes their decision to brake down to my speed even more baffling, when they could just pull into the RH lane and sail past my wheezing diesel. :/
