Who is this aimed at? I haven`t noticed anyone round here doing it, major annoyances for me are cue and queue, where and we`re & hanged and hung

I think it`s just a general dumbing down of the English language to be honest. Children aren`t taught grammar as they used to be. Hell, even I wasn`t taught it, but I had a mother & grandmother who were very keen on it.

I don`t profess to being perfect with my language/grammar skills, but I`m not that bad.

My pet hate is the use of the so called text/SMS `language`.
I mean, it`s only two more letters to write "you" rather than "u"! There`s no excuse when using a keyboard to write.

Now that kind of thing really gets me annoyed. My wife`s younger cousins (17 & 20) write (and speak!) like `dat`.

"Wot u doin wiv dat?"

It drives me nuts. Even their mother started doing it on MSN when I was speaking to her (I wasn`t particularly polite when handling the topic with her ;))

Someone who I vaguely know has added me on Facebook and I didn`t understand for ages all the messages she kept on posting.

I`ve now realised that she thinks that @ means "and".

Eg. Sarah is looking forward to drinking @ partying tonight. :/
