Can someone tell me why.....after buying a nice family film, I cannot tape it for my daughter to watch again & again & again..... on her vcr in her bedroom.??? I`m not breaking any copyright laws, I`m only taping for personal use and I aint buying another dvd player as there aint no space for another bloody machine

Anyone else feels the same........have a good whinge..and get it off your chest !!!

It`s to stop you turning into a dodgy Frank Butcher type and selling bootleg VCRs at a car boot sale, or to local schoolkids (next step crack cocaine), etc, etc.

What player have you got - there may be a workround. We all copy DVDs onto VCRs after all, purely for personal use you understand, ahem....

Failing that, buy your girl the Dreamcast for £299 and get a DVD player and a free game (wow!) thrown in. Or sell her VCR and buy her a cheapo DVD player - you can get them for £120 now you know (see http://www.richersounds.com for example)

I was in Richer Sounds and the saleman really slagged of the £129 player. I think its an Amstrad or something.... anyway my girl is keeping the vcr....she`s got too many bloody tapes to let it go just yet.

............Anyway....anyone wanna buy a good cheap runaround... er....one lady owner.......genuine mileage........oh..and some vcd`s thrown in !!! :-))) Ooops

Yeah Richer tend to do that - I went in to buy a cheapo JPW sub and came out with one £80 more expensive - money well spent, I have to say.

The cheapo player you`re referring to is the Ariston and yes, it is pants. It isn`t the same company as the washing machine manufacturer tho` although by all accounts that`s all it`s good for !

No, apparently they`re getting stocks of the Cyberhome player that Smiths are selling for £130, and they`re flogging them £10 cheaper.
