Porsche Cayenne

Paull (Elite) posted this on Monday, 13th October 2008, 15:02

An ex student of mine who is coming back for a while just arrived in a Porsche Cayenne that he bought yesterday. He waved the keys at me & said "go have a drive".

Gee, thanks for sharing that with us. :/

Bloke directly across the road has two.
A 3.6 V6 and a 4.8 V8.
The V8 used to be owned a local footballer, it blew up shortly after Colin bought it.
Lack of oil from when the footballer had it.
Cost him £13k to fix it (new engine), but he can afford it.
My car can whip the 3.2, it struggles a bit with the 4.8.
Neither are what you`d call stunningly fast, but they are behemoth motors.
Nice guy, shame he likes incredibly ugly cars. :/

Strangely, he still has the 3.2 on German plates, some three years after he bought it.
When I asked him about it, he just said "no-one`s queried it yet"
I was hassled when my Irish plate Alfa wasn`t re-registered to UK plates after 6 months.

they can be had from as little as £14k nowadays anyway - certainly not as posh as your mate would have you believe....

anyway - I`d have an X5 over that anyday ;)

I change my mind about big 4x4`s on a daily basis.
On one hand, let people have them and pay through the nose, it`s a free country.
On the other hand, f***ing ridiculously excessive for one person.
Like my neighbour, perfect example.
Only ever him in it, he has two of the bloody things. :/
He`s been banned twice for drink driving too.
Can you imagine his insurance???

You assume he bothers to pay for insurance. Its a pity you cant do a check on cars yourself. You can check the SORN status of a car on the DVLA website but some of the rustbuckets you see on the road surely cant be MOT`d or insured. Then again I would be on it all day checking all the chavs in a 10 mile radius were properly insured, and burning out the cars of the ones that weren`t. :D

I don`t know the first thing about them, I just put into Google & it was £76,000-00 new, & his was new yesterday.

well, kudos to your friend and thanks for sharing that with us.

while we`re at it then my friend spend £98k on a brand new Merc CL Coupe about 4 months ago.

Another friend spent £80k on a 55 plate 360 Modena about 3 months ago. :p

I`m sure Timechaser can add his pennies worth too ;)

He`s minted, they`ll be insured, I`m 100% sure of it.
The sort of premium that would scare the s*** out of us will just be a minor inconvenience to him.
