Ever been overcharged in a supermarket ?
Seems to happen very regularly when the tills aren`t updated with the correct price and products scan at the wrong price. B*oody annoying when you`re in a hurry but essential to check your receipt these days. Asda are selling off various dvds at £2.00 right now(inc. terminator 3) but the checkouts were scanning them at £5.00 earlier today.
No errors on empty blu-ray cases though as they don`t seem to sell them. ;)
RE: Ever been overcharged in a supermarket ?
I think it was Asda who used to give u the correct price and the item u bought free if there was an error but XBox 360`s i believe used to scan at a penny out from memory and people were buying loads of them and posting them on various sites so they stopped, I was overcharged recently online with asda....was pennies but they emailed me and told me , apologised and credited me a whole £ so cant really complain at that :)
RE: Ever been overcharged in a supermarket ?
I`m sure I posted about this in the last Harry Potter book thread, but Tesco were doing somehting like, get the book 1/2 price when you spend over £50.
Got home after the Saturday shopping, and had been charge full price for it, couldn`t be arse dto go back on a busy Saturday so went to customer services Sunday, lady told me she had spent all day Saturday dealing with refunds for it!
found it :)
How come I can remember that trivial event so well, but nothing important :/

One of our local supermarket had a nice error on their Self Scan. It would failt to recognise multi buys.... unless you pressed go back after you had pressed finish and pay now....
I was also once charged £27ish for a pizza....
RE: Ever been overcharged in a supermarket ?
I`ve had a few things like that, but actually had a positive one as well. Years ago I bought a copy of Stargate (I was feeling nostalgic) from TESCO and later realised I had only been charged £7. Result.
RE: Ever been overcharged in a supermarket ?
I bought a can of relentless in Asda yesterday, was meant to go through at £1.33 but scanned at £1.47. Sad thing is, the reason I was buying it is that I was knackered and needed picking up... so knackered that I couldn`t be arsed to argue the price! I think maybe there`s a bit of a conspiracy there...!

RE: Ever been overcharged in a supermarket ?
I always check my receipt, sometimes overcharged for the odd thing, but usually undercharged on something else (according to the shelf price) so can`t be bothered to argue.
Annoyed me the other day, got in the queue behind a bloke taking advantage of the 2 for £4 on cans of coke...many times looked like he was stocking a corner shop. It didn`t come through, so they called a lady to go check the shelf, she went and checked the shelf and agreed they should be 2 for £4...refunded what had gone through, rescanned and they came through at the correct price....cue bloke arguing for2 for £2...lady by this point was so confused, she argued for a minute then gave it to him! Held us al up for twenty minutes coz he wanted two packs for less than the price of one...b*****.
No problem with people querying actually mistakes, but people like that make me really angry...specially at the moment, when my back kills if I have to stand still for too long (come on baby...be early!)
