Ghost town in Notts......what gives?

"V" (Elite) posted this on Tuesday, 7th April 2009, 14:39

Betwixt the A52 and A6097 roundabouts on the A46 (Fosse way) in Nottinghamshire sits an eerie looking ghost town. The closest marked place on google maps is Newton, but when you switch to map view, the area below has no street names at all (?)
Does anyone know the story here?

it`s the old RAF NEWTON base mate

Quote:
The abandoned houses on the base were used to film scenes from the film This is England.[1] It has also been used for the BBC series Robot Wars.[2]
