Page 1 of SVP. What happened?
General Forum
I`ve used SVP for many years now. I heard they had been taken over but that`s all I know. I tried to buy some DVD-Rs printable with Taiyo Yuden dye a few weeks ago & all the good priced ones were out of stock. I looked again today & it`s still the same. There is Taiyo Yuden at £30-00+ & £40-00+ but no cheap ones. Even the panasonic are out of stock. What happened to SVP & where is the best place to get Taiyo Yuden printables at a reasonable price?
Cripes. I`ll be lost next time I want to buy media - I`ve used SVP for years!
Anyway, just browsed about, and other than ebay, I can`t find anywhere selling Taiyo Yuden printables at a sensible price.
eBay
The guy selling the 16x printables for just over £21 inc postage seems to be ok - power seller with 99.9% positive feedback.
If you find another decent site, let us know!

I`m pretty sure SVP used to often have large stocks cheaply of certain brands, but those always changed didn`t they? Maybe you just had a good run of that brand being sourceable.
Maybe you can find another brand with the same dye?

Be careful with the TY printables as there are some which the surface is almost water soluble and falls off at the merest hint of getting damp.

Not sure they have been taken over, butthey have moved their distribution point... they were only mile from me and regularly used them as i hate paying for post and packaging...
now i think they are in Edinburgh... i did email them for an explanation as to why i couldnt still collect from the local warehouse but they just said they had centralised?

Another firm very similar to SVP that I sometimes use is www.ukdvdr.co.uk, they`re based in Edinburgh. I wonder if they`ve taken SVP over?
