Mark And Lard - Spearing The Britney.

Discussing them last night with THO & a couple of Canadians, managed to find a link to listen to the final Fat Harry White on the last show, but has anyone got a archive of Spearing The Britney, a link to it or even what the feature from which it came was actually called.

Biggedy Biggedy Bong.

I consider myself an optimist, albeit an optimist with cynical tendencies and a dark side that Lucifer himself would find a little creepy. (Perhaps you've noticed.) You don't normally associate cynicism with an upbeat pov. But I have exactly that combination and will defend it.

Heartily glad that I don`t have to learn how to spell Chiwetel Ejiofor.

I`m not gay or owt but think it`s great that the show ended about 6 years ago but people are still using their catchphrases, just goes to show how good they are.

I was hoping that they might get back together for a one off fat harry white tribute to michael jackson, of lards classic cuts playing some of the MJ hits.

Link to some of their old stuff

All the best

Gerald.

The funniest radio show I ever listened to. I`d love to find links to more of their stuff too - perhaps it`s available on walbum (mint condition)?

10 pence short...

http://ohluckyyou.namwollem.co.uk/ (has several Fat Harry White clips)
http://www.biggedybong.com (lots of Great Moments in Pop)
http://www.scrawnandlard.co.uk/index.html (catchphrases etc)
http://www.cix.co.uk/~lemoncurry/ (Lard`s classic cuts)

Still no STB. :(

Hard to believe that this pair had a prime time show on Radio 1. I used to listen to them religiously when I was a mobile engineer covering most of the country. It kept me sane on all of those long journeys, eating McDonalds and Burger King lunches (on a bed of couscous of course). I all but cried when Moyles came on...

I think I still have MP3s of their songs Horny, Why is it Always Dairy Lea and Get Up somewhere. Their final show is on YouTube:

it was weird wasn't it, In my student days I used to listen to them when they had an evening show on Radio 1, I think it was sandwiched between the Evening Session, and John Peel, where like John Peel they were more or less allowed to play what they like, and talk about what they wanted, which rarely included anything that got played before 18:00 ;)

then they got "promoted" to breakfast which confused them as much as anyone else before being shifted to afternoon radio, then off they went :(

When I started working we used to turn the radio on at lunch time to listen to Mark and Lard, and turned it off when their show ended :) I quite like Moyles, but the guy who sat nearest the radio didn't so would turn it off :)
