POLL: Would you shop on Boxing Day?
RE: POLL: Would you shop on Boxing Day?
It`s sad that people cannot survive a couple of days without the shops, considering how much they will buy and stock up in the lead up to Christmas.

where is family time for retail employees?
Where is the family time for anyone who has a job that means they have to work (and nowadays thats a lot of people)
Why anyone would want to go shopping on Boxing day is beyond me but then again I hate sales so going to the shops then would be my worst nightmare!!

Having worked in retail for five years when younger I think anyone who shops on Boxing Day (or New Years Day for that matter) is a twat, they`re the reason the shops are opening, if there was no demand they wouldn`t do it.
Anyone who can`t wait 2 days without buying more food to stuff their face has problems. The first New Years Day I had to work someone came in and just bought pic n mix - really what the f*** is the point? Could that not have waited until tomorrow? There were literally 2 shops in the town centre open that day (new year 2001 I think) - the rest of the year the nation can`t get enough lazing around and watching telly, yet the couple of days that were invented for such activities and they want to go out!
Working in retail removed any faith I had in the general public. Nearly 6 years later it hasn`t been restored..

Boxing Day I`m too busy recovering from Christmas Day to worry about shopping.

Would you go out and shop on Boxing day
Since it`s long been known as THE busiest day in the Retail calendar I`d expect this would have a rather hefty swing towards a "yes" excluding those who work in the Retail industry.

We never go anywhere on Boxing Day.
Simple reason. Too many nutters on the road that are over the limit, and too many cars on the road full stop. It`s queues and jams all the way into Ashford, and I can`t be doing with it.
So we barely go anywhere between Christmas and New Year, preferring to wait until the world returns to normality in January!

Up to last year yes - Retail Park on my doorstep 200 yards away, with a desire to get of the house & see the bargains.
This year - Nah.
