Page 1 of Free Virus Checker

Hi there

Does anyone know of a good virus checker which is free as my Norton subscription is almost up but don`t want to renew it.

Any help appreciated.

AVG OR Avast, I normally go for the former, its been a bit flakey since upgrade from 8.5 to 9.0 (disabling linkscanner - helped).



I consider myself an optimist, albeit an optimist with cynical tendencies and a dark side that Lucifer himself would find a little creepy. (Perhaps you've noticed.) You don't normally associate cynicism with an upbeat pov. But I have exactly that combination and will defend it.

oh god, don`t talk to me about viruses.

Anyway, AVG is ok, but as discussed on another thread, the latest version kills your system. I`ve just switched to Avira, also malwarebytes. try regrun which checks your system on reboot.

Bear in mind, I`m just coming out of a clean re-install, as there are some attacks that are just too harsh to recover from
