Lord of the Rings DVD

This is what I would really like to see on the Fellowship of the Ring DVD.
Disclaimer: I know that all this stuff will never be on the discs but its my "dream" Lord of the Rings DVD. Oh yeah, feel free to add your own ideas.

Disc 1

-THX Certified
-Widescreen (retaining original aspect ratio)
-Theatrical & Directors cut incorporating the 30mins extra footage via seamless branching
-Dolby Digital 6.1 and DTS 6.1 sountracks**
-Directors Commentary
-A specially made THX demo for Lord of the Rings with really cool sound (demo quality) and is at least 1min long
-Fully Animated Menus (that change each time like Star Wars) with Dolby Digital surround sound

** If the DTS sound track is to be included, it may not be physically possible to fit it and the DD soundtrack on one disc so the actual film might have have to be spread over 2 discs instead of one, but if this is so, an intermission could be included (with music) much like the 3 disc R1 Pearl Harbour DVD

Disc 2 (Bonus Disc)

-Fully Animated Menus with DD surround sound
-1 hour (or longer) monster behind the scenes, fly on the wall documentary
-For those people who wish NOT to know about how the special effects were made (so as to retain the magic of the film), a decent length featurette about the progression of the characters personalities could be included
-Featurettes on: Costumes, Sets, Special Effects, Characters, Miniatures etc.
-Featurette on how they digitally shrunk the actors
-Interview with Peter Jackson on how he undertook this film and his thoughts on it
-Featurettes on the main areas and towns and how they were made: Hobbiton, Bree, Rivendell, Mines of Moria, Lothlorien and Rauros Falls
-Actor profiles and interviews with them about their characters
-Entire Website on the Disc
-Featurette on JRR Tolkien
-Featurette on the history of Middle Earth and the Hobbit
-Storyboards for the film
-Teaser and Theatrical Trailers (with surround sound)

This would be cool. There would be trouble fitting all that stuff in disc 1. cos the film is pretty long. I reckon they should concentrate on what matters most. I.e the picture and and DD 5.1/6/1 sound. DTS would be a bonus.

You forgot to include a trailer for the next installment - The Two Towers.

Do you reckon they will change title for US audience?

I reckon they should give you a back up copy of any CD or DVD you buy, they could stamp "not for resale" all over the front of the back up copy.

Nicely put together...now all we need is the box artwork to go with it... :-)

Sure you haven`t missed anything out? Nah only kidding. If it had all that on it, I`d buy it.

Only just watched the movie this afternoon, it was pretty cool considering I had no interest in goblins and stuff. I want to read the book now.
