Got back tonight on my normal train and on came Portillo filming his tv show, before he had sat down he was told a few home truths by a local, go back home, uv no right here after what ur lot did etc, guard told him uv had ur say now leave him alone.

Anyway he sat on the table seat opposite me with cameraman, sound guy and gopher woman, interestingly he changed clothes immediately, i assume to pretend it was a different days filming, he said about 3 things into the camera from his book, (oban being backward being one lol),

I was surprised how big the camera was, thougt they were smaller and digital now? also sound man had the boom mic which surprised me too, gopher woman i have no clue what she did, she held his clothes here (Shirt he changed into was brand new) she also got the wine out when they finished (choice of 3 reds) and made few phonecalls.

All in all he was on the train for less than an hour, assume he will do some filming here tomorrow then they are off to rannoch moor which is near the last hotel i worked at, small world :)

I would have asked wether the licence payer was forking out for the wine and if the answer had been yes I would have gave the bastards hell.

Whilst you can shrink the electronics, you can`t shrink the lens (basic physics, bigger the glass, better the quality and amount of light), and a boom mic is still the best way to record sound.

Oh and a bigger camera is easy to keep steady.

I can understand the locals being wild about that geezer, I have a long memory.

We had 16 years of the tory listening party the last time, as they liked to be called the listening party, but they NEVER LISTENED.

Anyway hey ho, we have them back with Cameron in power, heaven help us all.

So buckle down you chaps and pay back the massive national debt that was specifically manipulated to keep us all working hard as meek wage slaves and tax payers.

Mind you who do we have to pay back the debt to, OURSELVES, the tax payer, as we own the Bank.

Hence why not do what the Russians did after WW2 when USA asked them to pay back war debt, they just said NO., while the UK paid back 60 year worth to the USA and Canada.

So we should just say no to this rediculus debt and write it all off, problem sorted, stuff working hard, and time to take it easy on the yaught with a pimms, Thats what your MPs do on their massive salaries, while you lot are struggling to make ends meet, he he.

I dont know why Im laughing, its a sorry state of affairs, especially with 20% vat come January..

I heard that that Smith women (the ex mp with the porn loving husband) as applied for a job with the BBC its 2 days a week and the salary is £70,000 a year, thats nothing some of them that "work" for the beeb are on between £490,000 to nearly a million pounds a year plus expensives vast pensions and personal drivers.

And as for moving up north most of the so called "talant" does not want to leave London and thats why Mr Mayo left radio 5 live, also the only reason they where told to go north was that under the freedom of information act it was revealed that upwards of 90% of the licence fee was being spent in London.

Poor old Johnathan Ross has got to slum it now with a big drop in salary at 2 MILLION a year off the ITV. Wheras with the BBC he got a lot more, before he paid the price for ridiculing Andrew Sachs, and had to leave.

I just wonder how he survives on that :D

Babs, I guess the wine would have been paid for by the production company making the program. Not the BBC. Once they have been paid the market rate for the program it would be up to them how they spend their own money. As the BBC don`t make their own paper clips, but buys them in. Would you have a problem with a Paper Clips Corp rep buying a glass of wine on a train?

I dohave a probelm with some of thw ways they spend my money.
Specifically at the moment Lembit Opik is on practically every 5Live show banging on about everything he knows sod all about.
A real bona fide rentagob.

I used to be with it, but then they changed what `it` was.
Now, what I`m with isn`t it, and what`s `it` seems weird and scary

If the production company can offer tit head 3 choices of wine then the BBC are giving them to much of are money and like most tax funded bloated companys its always easier to spend other peoples money including the millions over spent on the new local radio stations in Hull.Leicester and Manchester and I have no doubt that includes the paper clips that are used in them as well.
