Heh, I think it`s part of their ultimate plan to replace the city`s taxis with Johnny Cabs.

Hmmmmmmmm.......

I might be wrong but that looks very suspiciously like a Fiat E7/Peugout TW200/LTI whatever the fook they called the model.

Also known as the Peugot Eurobus (private hire/retail variant) and again, dunno the designation of the Fiat.
If it is, they`re even softer than the TX range of cabs and won`t last long in NY...

why the hell did they pick something that can only do 25mph!!??!!
I know it has to be big, but there must me something that size that has better mileage?
& boy, is that ugly!

My late 2004 knackered Picasso turns in 39 working nights and from memory it was well over 30 on days.

I just think that new thing is Fugly and definitely not Noo Yawk. I can`t see many visitors making a point of a yellow cab ride in one of them.

I got my models wrong earlier, the Peugot is the E7 and the Fiat is the TW200 but in response to SJ`s comment/quote, both those models and the TX range are pushed as fantastic built for purpose vehicles and they are soft as crap against the wear.
The one I`m driving is an 09 plate with 70K miles, I got it at about 68K miles and it`s had a horn, a steering box, 2 drop links, other suspension work, bumper resecured at front, about 4 headlight bulbs, an interior passenger headlining bulb, a hire sign bulb and a few other bits n pieces.
Obviously this isn`t all down to the time I`ve had it, but 70K miles and as well as the timing belt being done it needed a list like that? (and it`s in cracking condition btw!)

If you are ever in one just feel the build quality of the surrounds, the headlining etc... it`s all cheap plastics to the point that if you see the light fitting removed from the roof to change a bulb it almost looks like it`s recess has been cut out using a craft knife! (there`s no metal surround/border or finish to it, it`s just a shaped hole in the headlining)

Of course, this could be a completely different car and nothing to do with the E7/TW200`s but it`s definitely got the same design look to it.

Link to Patons with the TW200 on the front page twice.... also interesting to notice on Google searches for the pictures of this there`s a link saying Birmingham and London might ban the E7 type range due to the turning circle not being tight enough... and funnily enough was talking about that just last night with one of my mates who drives one!
