Chisora and Haye, pair of thugs :(

I remember when being the heavyweight champion was the ultimate accolade within sport, now...I mean can you imagine any of these 2 ever wearing that crown?? I hope they are both banned for life and I have even more respect for the Klitchkos who as per have carried themselves impeccably

You can`t help thinking this sort of thing is precisely what boxing needs though.
Needle, hatred.
It`s been in the doldrums for years, this will draw the crowds in.

Who`d a thought that a sport that is about punching your opponent into submission would breed such people?

It`s not exactly a modern day malaise either, is it.
How long ago was it Holyfield had his ear bitten off?

I don`t think things were better when Ali was calling Joe Frazier an "Uncle Tom".

If it was somebody`s idea of a publicity stunt, it has backfired horrendously. I think the sport has to take a stand and hand out lifetime bans.

As for the sport needing aggro - exactly the opposite. These men should be sportsmen - under control, not threatening to shoot each other. There are too many cretins in sport with the emotional stability of a pit bull. Britain used to be the envy of the world for the way its sportsmen conducted themselves. Now we breed primadonnas who stamp their little feet and pout when things don`t go their way. It`s all because there`s too much money in sport and everybody wants to be a billionaire.

Last time I remember boxers having a punchup outside the ring was with Tyson smashing one of his opponents in a night club, that`s going years back.

Personally I think they are a pair of dick heads! Time and place!!

Mark, I agree with your second sentence, but when there`s aggro and bad behaviour, gate receipts and pay-per-view buys increase. Sad but true.

Confirms my last sentence then - the money overrides everything else. Sad there`s nobody to stand up for the traditional values of the sportsman. Even the professional bodies kowtow to the promoters and the broadcasters who are only interested in appealing to the lowest common denominator.

Sometimes I get the suspicion that being a sports personality (note not a sportsperson) exempts you from accepted norms of behaviour. Like pop personalities they get away with crap us ordinary plebs would be jailed for life for.
