How does someone on a motorcycle manage to hit two cyclists dead on like that when they weren't even driving that fast!!!

This is exactly why I don't ride on the road up steep hills in America.

Simple - rider was not looking ahead on where he was aiming to go, instead fixated on the back of the cyclist (impending impact point) - = collision.
