MPAA wants bag searches at cinemas
Don't they know nearly all pirated releases come from digital rips of screeners these days?

Quote:
“Theater managers should immediately alert law enforcement authorities whenever they suspect prohibited activity is taking place. Do not assume that a cell phone or digital camera is being used to take still photographs and not a full-length video recording.”
And...
Quote:
“If your theater maintains night vision devices or low light binoculars, please employ these during the screening in the darkened auditorium,” MPAA writes.
“In the event that MPAA Investigators have been requested to augment the theater security for the event, additional low light security measures may be implemented.”
Bag searching is in the new guidelines too.

They're just making sure you don't take your own drinks and nibbles and have to pay twice the price of the ticket for two ounces of pick and mix and a watered down coke.

I used to be with it, but then they changed what `it` was.
Now, what I`m with isn`t it, and what`s `it` seems weird and scary
RE: MPAA wants bag searches at cinemas
You have hit it on the nail with that statement as cinemas make a fortune out of drinks and popcorn. We have never bought any confectionary for years from our local cinema, as that stuff is three or four times the price of the supermarkets. Excessive greed is the word.
Considering the massive cost of a family ticket of four, if we take the two grandchildren, we take in our own sweets bought from the supermarket, and also soft drinks in a plastic bottle. So what I say, so does everyone else.
The only place we do buy sweets is the privately owned cinema's in the Lake District in the North of England when on holiday there, as the cinema owner goes out his way not to get greedy with drinks and sweets.
For example, He only charges 50p for a packet of raisin or toffee poppits. It brings back memories of the days when you could afford to go to the cinema each week and buy, ice cream, drinks and the like, instead of squirling in your own food and drink like a thief in the night.
Unfortunately, greed is supreme in 2013, and has degraded the enjoyment of the cinema through cost.

Or they're leaked from employees/associates of the movie company.

Of course the reason for piracy is due to the high cost of cinema tickets, when they introdced 3D it was an excuse to set rippoff prices. We only watch in 2D now when going to the cinema.

Give it time and the MPAA will be using neuralyzers to wipe cinema-goers' memories when they leave the auditorium, just so they can't watch it back in their minds.

I'm sure there's an idea for a film in there somewhere...
