I think they'll be daft to do it.

I voted keep as statis que, as my relatives are up there.

But I heard on the news today that the Scots would have to have their own currency, and their Pound would likely be called 'the Scunner'  

I wonder if there is going to be a border crossing, will there be a duty free dram

I used to be with it, but then they changed what `it` was.

Well the inevitable has been said by all UK parties yesterday, that Scotland will not be allowed to use the Pound Sterling, if it becomes independent. Knew that was coming.

I remember reading in an English paper a while back where a writer jokenly stated the Scots would end up with the 'Scunner', and if they had a fist full of scunners, then they would be entirely scunnered 

it seems this is now becoming feasible, though assume for all our sakes if they get independence that the scunner will be the same value as the pound, otherwise there will be currency exchange at the borders. Crazy!

I heard on the radio that they could still use the pound if they want, but just wouldn't have any say on how it's run. Some Scots being interviewed were saying that politicians were just scaremongering to sway the vote.

Anybody can use any currency, that's not the issue.  The issue is which bank is used as the lender of last resort and the SNP want to use the Bank Of England - which is what has been ruled out by all the UK parties.

And this makes perfect sense as we already know from the Euro zone that a currency union does not make sense unless all the economies involved are run the same way.  Interest rates are set centrally and Scotland would have no say in that in  a currency union.

Scotland also tends to vote now in a centre left leaning way, which means that certainly if there was a Conservative Government (or god forbid, UKIP) that the spending plans of the two Governments would be vastly different to each other.

Some Scots may well think it's to sway the vote, but they need to understand that if they vote to go it alone then they really will be going it alone.

Personally I just think now that we should get it over and done with, and if Scotland wants independence then have it.

FFS even staunch Labour supporters and former high ranking ex-cabinet members are aghast at the thought that a fiscal union has been ruled out with no negotiation or discussions held between the SNP and the Lib/Lab/Tory pact. KNee jerk reaction 101
I myself want Scotland to be a nation state and have control over our destiny . Look at Labour for example. They actually need Scotland to remain part of the union so they can rely on the 56 odd M.P.s they usually get from up here.
The Tories are almost extiinct in Scotland as will , HOPEFULLY, Cleggs lap dancing troupe :)
Anywhoo I truly fear if the outcome is a NO vote. The Barnet formula will be thrown to the dogs and then the real bitterness will manifest itself. Scotland, again IMHO :), will be roundly phuqed by Cameron/Clegg/Milliband. The Poll Tax debacle springs to mind. Phuq it , lets try it on the Jocks for one example of how "We are better together"
The M.O.D. contracts  (Only to be ratified after the referendum !!!!!!!!!!!! ) will be revoked and transferred to Pompey . FFS they have M.O.D. contracts awarded to Australia and this shower are effectively classing Scotland (If a yes vote) as a foreign and untrustworthy nation.
I had a chuckle at  the  Cameron lovefest when he spouted his "Oh we all love Scotland soooooo much we would hate to lose you" from The Trafford Centre (Well know suburb of Fife
Sorry folks but the more I hear from Gideon Osborne"Call me Dave", Lap Dog Nick and Millibland makes it even more certain that I will vote yes. Sheer unadulterated bully boy schecht masquerading as "Responsible politics".
The fact that the S.N.P. have had to fight tooth and nail simply to have a referendum all the while facing the Unionist parties and there "We know best " attitude speaks volumes on them and says little of The S.N.P.
BTW I have, or had been a lifelong member of the Labour party but after the Shambles of Reckless Eric added to Joanne Lamont forced me, yes forced me, to abandon a party I held dear.
There may be four main parties in Scotland but sadly only one has the baws to stand up for Scotland and not the Westminster clique (Bullingdon Boys) :)
