Page 1 of AAARGH JUST HACKED MY SAMSUNG N505 AND NOW IT WON`T WORK

Tried to use an old AIWA handset hank and on pressing the OPEN button on my RC-TZ720 remote I got the ADJUST message and out popped the drawer but from then on I couldn`t access the setup unless I closed the drawer and now it won`t play any region DVD.......

PLEASE PLEASE CAN SOMEONE HELP ME!!!!!!

Try a cold reset.

Tried a cold restart*, but nothing changes it still won`t play ANY DVD (says NO DISC), it will play CDs though.
I found that pressing RANDOM on the AWAI remote brought up a JOYSTICK TEST PAGE (grey screen with two red boxes marked 1 & 2), does anyone recognise this?

*Performed cold start holding down Play/pause & Stop, also found another cold start from AWIA remote (different on screen message though!)

I also have N505 and it seems that you gone in self test mode (it is posible to play games on N505 so this is explanation of joystick test page). I`m very satisfied with my N505 (I will add gameports soon) but unfortunately I don`t know solution for your problem. I left URL to your message at http://www.nuon-dome.com (check forums). Thanks, I had a horrible feeling I had blown the chip.
I guess that by bringing up the Joystick page first I`ve locked the DVD function out.

If I have blown the chip how the hell do I explain that to Samsung???
I did used to have an Awia stereo, I could have done it by accident!!!

You can`t blow chip so easy... it is just in self test mode. N 501 has this mode... check picture here...

there must be way to go back... ask Kevin at Nuon Dome he has N501 and he knows the way to go in diag mode (and back I hope). !

But my player is reacting normally in all ways except for playing DVDs, I`m not stuck on a grey screen! Incidentally the joystick test screen has only the words JOYSTICK TEST with two soild red square boxes in the middle of the screen numbered 1 & 2 but I didn`t access it through a menu and can only get to it by pressing the RANDOM button on my Awia remote.
Thank you for trying to help I do appreciate it, fingers crossed that Kevin reads my post and knows how to restore my DVD functions.
