Page 1 of LG DV2000ST Combi Player Region Hack if Possible - PLEASE

Hi Guys,

Checked thru the posts and I have seen plenty of hacks for several LG players, but as yet not one that my parents have bought recently. Trust parents not checking with sons and daughters before buying things!

I was wanting to know if there was at all, a region hack for the Above Mentioned player, a combination with a video player. side by side affair. Looks very nice I hasten to add.

The old`s would love to watch some of the movies I have bought from around the world and unfortunaley as yet, they cannot view them, only my R2 films... bless.

Any suggestions would be greatly received, thankyou in advance

Hiya. I want the same information as you. Dunno how far you have got. If you go to http://www.dvdrhelp.com/dvdhacks.php?select=Samsung%20DVD%20M105 and type your player in then it comes up with a hack which is the same as for the LG series 5000 players. You download the software and burn it to a CD which you play. I did this and got the menu to change it to multi region. At this point I got "error 3, invalid ID" So, OK, it didn`t quite work for me but my technichal knowledge is, well, almost non existant. As it reckons it works well it could be worth your while giving it a go. Let me know if you can work it out!! Cheers. Cat

HI I AM ALSO NEEDING HELP WITH THE HACK WHAT DOES ERROR 3 AND INVALID ID MEAN AND HOW DO WE GET ROUND IT THANKS TO ANYONE WHO CAN HELP.

From my experience with the amount of e-mails I receive about the multi region disc every day, 90% of the Invalid ID errors occur where the user has created the disc in an incorrect UDF format. Make sure when you burn unzipped file that no structure of files/folders are changed and that you are NOT using the `drag and drop` burnning method (as found in XP) to the CD, you must use Nero or Adaptec or similar and `create` a data disc in JOILET MODE making sure the disc is `CLOSED` like you would with an audio CD. Hope this helps everybody and just for the record, The CD has been confirmed on ALL 5000 series Players including all the DA (home cinema) models (except the DA3520).

The file has to be burnt as is, I used nero which did the job 100%
Worked first time, set it to region 0 and it also plays RCE disks, which made me smile

Hey, Now I have another question, impossible I guess to answer, but I`ll ask it any way..... lol



Is there by anychance a firmware upgrade to the dvd to be able to play Divx?????? lol
