Page 1 of philips DVDR 880 hack?

Can anyone help, I`ve used the hack for my philips dvd recorder, the 880 model, and It worked fine! I played the only region 1 disc that I have no problem, BUT, when I tried to play my region 2 discs it wouldn`t read them and told me that the disc region was not compatible with my player!

How can I get it to play multi region including region 2?

Or will it need to go for repair and never try it again!

To be able to play region 2 again follow the same procedure but end your code with 002 (region 2). This will enable you to play region 2 again, however, I dont know how to make the player multi region using standard remote? hope this helps.

be careful i knackerd my dvdr1000 using thesecodes? now the machine
is back at philips cost?

Dont know if this helps you but I picked this up from another site and they seemed to think that the codes below worked. I have not tried it myself though. So unfortunately I can`t confirm it either way.

Code 121 212 005 001 (Region 1)
Code 121 212 005 002 (Region 2)
Code 121 212 005 007 (All Regions)

Be careful though after 25 attempts the machine will lock on the last region you have selected.

I region hacked my 880 some months ago using the One for All 6. All worked fine...but now I get frequent NO DISC displays when I insert DVDs. Sometimes they play OK, othertimes the same disc will not play and the display shows NO DISC.
DVDs recorded on the 880 itself play fine.
Can Anyone help???

Mmmm, you have the same problem I had. Sometimes it would play a DVD ok, but more often it would say `NO DISC`! Very random, very annoying! I have posted warnings in this forum...

I tried everything, over and over, code 001, code 255, code 002 etc etc ad nauseam. In the end I took it back to the shop & they sent it to Belgium for repair. It works fine now but it took a month... they might charge you for it! Deny everything!

Sorry I have no better advice - I won`t be touching that software again on my 880!
