Philips DVD players. Does the hack beat RCE? Is it reversible? Also ...

Does the hack for the Philips DVD beat RCE and can you turn it off? Also, can you set the player to a single zone only of your choice?

Also, is everything you need to activate the hack just the DVD and the remote. When it says to set to infra code RC6, is that just done with the buttons on the DVD or remote for example

The hack is 100% compatible with RCE. It should be possible to turn it off by entering the "reset to factory defaults" code with the RC6 method. You *have* to use either a OneForAll 5 or 6, a PalmPilot with OmniRemote or a Philips Pronto remote to access the engineers` code entry thingy, otherwise your player will lock up on the 25th attempt. You should never need to disable the hack though - as I said, it works fine with RCE protected discs. :)
