COMPACKTS 5000 from safeway can it be multi region
these safeway cheapys are not bad for the money (£50) they play copied dvds &also plays vcds i wonderd if they whent all the way and could be multi region any help would be appreciated

i cant seem to get it to work in following the instructions as the website but i cant get the version menu to come up. i have a grey controller

Right,lets break this down and take it slowly.
1.Press SETUP Key.
2.Press the left key 5 times.
3.You should be in the Set up Menu now.
4.Press the down button 5 times.
5.Press the Enter/Play key now.
6.Press the right button to move the cursor down to Region Code.
7.Press Up or Down button to change the Region Code to 0.
8.Press SETUP Key.
9.Hurrah...Now MultiRegional !
If this doesn`t work let us know which stage isn`t being accepted and we`ll try and solve it from there.

hi i press setup it brings up the setup menu. i then press left 5 times and nothing happens. i have a grey controller and not black like in the pic

try this.
Power on your player and your TV
Press SETUP on your remote
Key in 8,8,8,8 on your remote, followed by the >>l button
A new menu option will appear in the SETUP MENU page called VERSION
Use the cursor keys to move down to that menu and then press PLAY
The REGION CODE menu entry will be the first one you can go down to - press the right arrow cursor key
Use the cursor keys to cycle round to "0" (all-region)
Press SETUP again - job done
