Page 1 of LG3200e Hack

Hi

I tried the hack for my LG3200e last night and I can`t get it to work. I press pause and enter the numbers in, but I don`t get any option to change the region. Can anyone help me?

It depends on what firmware you have on your LG, apparently the newer the player the likely chances are you can hack it. My firmware is 1.0 and it doesn`t work but I have seen threads showing users with 1.1 1.2 etc and it works.

I checked my firmware and its 1.0, will it not work at all then?

Fraid not old boy, I tried about 10 times and couldn`t get mine to work, firmware being 1.0 !!

You could always shell out £50 for a chip from www.techtronics to make it multi region if you are that desparate but would make your warrenty invalid !

Looks like I`ll have to spend a fortune on UK DVD`s for the moment

Strange, if you check some of the other threads people with 1.2 firmware have managed to hack it.

Seems that there is a conspiracy going on ........I`m seriously thinking of flogging mine and getting the 3350.

NOTE:- Not all LG players are hackable, it all depends on the firmware..

Mine hacked no problem : )

On that web site it also tells you how to get the firmware revision up on screen, so check other threads about this topic...Goto the top of this page and in the search bar Type "SLIM" and you will find alot of issues about LG stuff ie...HACK and FIRMWARE stuff...

I *think* I`ve managed to get the hack to work on my 1.2 system now; I guess I wasn`t pressing the numbers quickly enough... grrr.

Haven`t been able to test it with any R1s yet tho`. The firmware revision screen shows `02` for the region; does that mean the hack didn`t work? I might try setting the region to something else and seeing if it locks out any of my existing R2 discs...
