I am after a region hack for a Ronin DVD P80H

can anyone help please

To change player to multi-region mode:
1. Press SETUP on Remote Control
2. Enter 13798888 - "Version" will appear as an option on the menu
3. Select VERSION from the menu by pressing ENTER
4. On REGIONAL CODE press RIGHT (>) button
5. Use DOWN button to change REGIONAL CODE to `0`
6. Press left to exit the region settings and you just need to get out of the menu system

It does work

I`ve got a P80H and the code came with it

You shouldn`t have a disk in the machine at the time.

Try that.

You`re right, it does work. But not after fiddling with the code a number of times. It was just being difficult I guess.

Mark, I have just purchased a Ronin P80H and I am very pleased with it apart from trying to make it multi-region. I have followed your instructions but when I enter 13798888, I get a grey box appearing with version at the top and Region Code 2 in a green box at the bottom but none of the buttons will make the box live and editable. Any suggestions will be gratefully accepted.

I have had the same problem with the P80H, You can get the grey box up just using 1379 the 8888 gives me another box at the bottom. Is the menu referred to the box Bob mentions ( grey box) or are we looking for something on the main setup menu of the DVD player.

Either way I cannot seem to enter the grey box with the region 2 ( green box) with any of the keys.

What version numbers do you see , I have version 0F.06.00.01 ,

I just received my Ronin P80H last night and lo and behold there was no hack code in the box. I will try the code listed here tonight and let you know if I have any joy.

The code supplied works on this thread works fine for me - thanx - but I did raise a query with the place I bought t from and they suggested 2 codes as follows:

Dear Customer,
Thank you for your recent enquiry.
Due to UK restrictions, this machine is set to region 2 at the time of sale.
For you to be able to play disks other than region 2 you will need to do the
following:
With the machine on and no disk in the drive, press SETUP.
Enter the following sequence of numbers:
1, 3, 6, 9, 8, 8, 8, 8. Or, if this code does not work, try:
1, 3, 7, 9, 8, 8, 8, 8. There are a few different versions of this machine.
A new option, VERSION should now be available. Select this.
Move to REGIONAL CODE, and press RIGHT.
Using up and down, select the region required or `0` for REGION FREE.
Move back to MAIN PAGE, and press PLAY to save settings.

Hello,
I had no joy at all with the hack , but I was able to get the updated firmware from the manufacturer after I registered the unit and posted my problem to them via the support line. In the end I had to burn this on a CD. A very easy process and I now have the unit as multi region.


Just for anyones information this is what I saw for the version of the firmware.

Version 0F.06.00.01
Sub Ver 11.72.12.05 >>>> updates to 11.72.12.08

Region Code 2

The region is now set to 0
