This player is doing my head in. Do I realy have to pay Techtronic.com eighty odd quid plus VAT to watch region 1 DVDs ?? I`ve tryed the power off, hold buttons in bit but it still comes up with region error ! Yes I didn`t do my homework but it matched my TV & VCR. Someone please help.

Forgive my ignorance but I thought the 523 was the same as the 522 apart from the colour ?? If so let me know.

Well either the info I have on region unlocking the 523 is wrong or the 522 is different :( either way it`s proving a pain :(

Having spent the last 10 hours on this player it can now be chipped to auto region and the macro diable option is 95% finished :) you will have to wait a while for the website to be upodated

Macro disable was a pain but I`ve now made chips for both macro disable and auto region ...... [edited out what looked too much like an advert - Steve - www.dvdchips.co.uk]

Hi, I`ve got a JVC XV-M557, which I believe is the same as the 522, other than the fact that it has a 3 CD changer. D`you know if it is possible to enable multiregion use, or does it need to be chipped? What does this cost and where can I get it done? Cheers, Nathan
