Update to Philips 7.12 software. Is it worth it if don`t won`t SVCD?

I have read with interest over the last few weeks the apparent excitment of Forum members with Philips 711 DVDs about the option to burn update from 7.03 to 7.13 software? What if you don`t want to spend hours copying DVDs via PC, are there any other significant advantages?

I noticed a recent request for access to old firmware version 5.50 as only Philips version without macrovision, and potential key to Holy Grail. Might we all be rushing to software `back` date soon?
