Page 1 of LG 3200E, hack doesn`t work

On Monday, after extensive research on which players are hackable, I bought myself an LG3200E. I tried the hack supplied on this site, but it didn`t work. Imagine my dissapointment. When I checked the Firmware Version Display, there was a date, 26 January 2000. I suppose this indicates that I have an old version firmware.

Please, is there anyone out there who has a solution? Otherwise I`m stuck with a R2 only player.

When you checked the Firmware version did you note the number i.e. was it 1.0 ? 1.2 or what ?

I had the same problem so bought Toy Story Box set and tried to play the 3rd bonus disk and it didn`t work so contacted LG via email. They are going to replace the player FOC and this should have the latest version (1.4/1.5) on it to hack. I think it is 1.2 onwards that you can hack.

Yes, I checked the Firmware version again, and it`s 1.0.

Thanks for the tip on Toy Story. Did they just say they were going to replace the firmware and no questions asked?

No they said they were going to replace the complete player with a brand new one. When they email you back they ask you if you have hacked it, of course you say no, still region 2, do a search on the retailer forums, you should pick up my original post under LG.

I don`t think LG are into changing frimware like Scan are !

well guys i tried the hack for this player on a model with 1.4 firmware and it won`t work :-)
