I just got a Philips DVDR520H and i was wondering if there is a remote hack available?

highlight the exit button

with this highlighted type in 2960 should give you access to a hidden menu form where you can change the region code

I bought the Philips DVDR520H in Germany and like to use it in the US. The region code hack worked great. But now I have to overcome another hurdle. I need to change the TV type from PAL to NTSC. Anyone know a remote hack to allow this conversion?

The English manual indicates that I can select within the system menu the category TV type to be PAL or NTSC. Philips included a German correction sheet indicating that the category TV type is not available in the system menu. I powered the unit up and it is not there! So how do I change it now!

Anyone help with this ? Nigel do you know this?

I have the same issue with the DVDR520H and have tried the systems menu, playlist menu and disc menu. I highlight exit, type in 2960 but nothing happesn. I have tried the same thing by hitting ok after entering the numbers, but again with no result..Any idea as to what I may be doing wrong would be appreciated.

The general hack for phillips 520 is
hit "system menu" on remote
highlight preferance page
now enter "135566"
the region code menu will appear.
use up down arrows. 0=multi region
