Looking for a region and macrovision hack for a Tevion MD42397 combo DVD/VCR player. Would appreciate any help

This hack was provided by dmanbelfast for the Sony DAV-SB200 and is based on the hack for the above machines.
Create a file named: KPJC19_1.DVD containing 4 hex bytes: 17 17 8C 00
or download from www.math.uga.edu/~djb/html/kpjc19_1.dvd
place this file in a subdirectory called: SCARLET
place SCARLET in a directory called: RMTM0000
Write this directory structure to a standard CD-R
Place this CD in your DVD, after 20-30 seconds you should see Region menu on the screen. Press 0 for multi-region then Pause. Remove CD

Not straightforward admittedly ;)

I have tried the method outlined and revealed a page about Mpegs, not an area to enter a region.
Has anyone got any thoughts on what has gone wrong or suggest an alternative hack?

Cheers Clayts, Just tried out your method (after I discovered a sub directory and a directory are just other names for files) Worked fine first time.
