Steve, Futuretronic have been offering this for the last month or so, mate !

Only trouble is they charge £200 for a modified player.

Also, most people are switched on to buying them from GC Computing rather than Tescos (£155 -vs- £180), and with the £25 they save buying a Sonel Macmaster., which works fine on the M5

Competitive world this chipping malarkey, innit ?!

Okay they have to pay £24.99 for the MacMaster and £5.99 for the power supply from Sonel .... that`s £31 ish .... so with a bit of soldering experience they can now save another 11 quid ...

Competitive business this chipping :)

If you need a few free samples clayts to test out before giving me a mention on your site then just ask :)

The annoying thing is, I don`t actually own the M5 !!! Still stuck with my Encore DV450 (actually, that`s a little harsh - it`s still a great player...).

E-mail me at styalc[at]ten.llehstun with a price guide and I`m more than happy to mention you at Area 450 ! (and no, I don`t want commission ;-) )

They actually frequent Northern Computer Market fairs - check here http://www.area450.co.uk/where_to_buy_one.htm . No online presence but they are on that weird telephone contraption thingy, whatever that is :-)

If you visit that page there`s a direct link to the list of fairs being held, as well as some discount vouchers.

All the people who`ve bought from GC have reported their players are the new batch, and thus AOK !

Steve - cheers for the mail : will be in touch.

Steve
The Wharfdale M5 - Is it any good? Tescos are now selling it for about £130. Sounds very good value - Is it? Also is the digital decoder any good - That is the main reason I am looking at this one over other models. I have heard the 750 has a terrible remote - Is this one any better.
P.S. This would be my first DVD Player, so I`m a bit of a novice!
