Page 1 of Hitachi DV-P505e any info please?

I have a Hitachi DV-P5053 DVD player and through the help from this forum, it is now region free and I know how to get to the Loop-Holes menu.

But I have one further question for YOU clever people out there, is there any setting which clears up the picture of a VCD movie?

I remember coming across something before, concerning how to set the DVD player to play a clearer picture, but I lost the connection and are yet to find the page again.

I recently have bought some VCD movies and I know they not up to DVD standard, but I would like to know if a clearer picture is possible??

Loop Holes Menu is accessed by pressing:- SETUP,LAST,SKIP BACK,SKIP FORWRD. (Not all at once; but in order)

Video CD`s tend to be copies of films filmed with camcorders in cinemas so unless they come up with better ideas you are stuck with poor VCD`s

There is an option which is supposed to improve the picture but it hasn`t been confirmed by anyone and I can`t say it improves the picture on my Hitachi 505e. It is only said to enhance the DVD picture quality, but, in theory should work for a VCD as well. It is something to do with the dithering option, this is related to sound dithering which in the Hitachi`s case can cause some strange effects to do with the picture and certain DVD`s.
